General Information
AVAST32 is an antivirus set that is able to detect the presence of viruses in computers working under the Windows 9x/Me or Windows NT /2000/XP. The package is able to detect a great quantity of known viruses. It is even able to detect the underlying activities of unknown or selfmodifying viruses, for which there is actually no possible direct detection.
AVAST32 has fully modular architecture - the engine kernel runs only once on every computer. It can cooperate with many avast! clients or plugins, as GUI programs, Screen Saver, Explorer scanner, resident protection e-mail scanner, mail server plugins etc.
AVAST32 restrains to a minimum one of the great danger of data loss targeting a large majority of computer users. The proper use of an antivirus system and other data security measures (e.g. backup) along with a secure organized access to computers or computer networks ensuring the highest probability of preventing computer infection will diminish to the very least the difficulties with viruses.
AVAST32 is the direct successor of the popular AVAST! antivirus software designed for DOS and Windows 3.x. Its structure and operation are very much close to those of its predecessor. However, the basic implementation is entirely new, fully using all the qualities of the latest operating systems for PC. The new characteristics and resources of these operating systems allow changes in the algorithmic representation, that actually offer a highly superior protection.

TaskManager
Description: Windows 9x/ME doesn't really have one so I wrote one. Also, the NT Task Manager doesn't let me terminate anything I want. I don't like training wheels on my utilities. I thought it would be a good to know where the file associated with the process is located on the hard drive. TaskManager can also be used to grant additional privledges to other running processes. Finally I wanted to find out how some process are protected from termination (using the windows taskmanager anyway) so as an experiment I protected MY TaskManager so it can't be terminated by the NT Task Manager. (Not really practical I know, just wanted to see if it could be done.)
