I'm new user of Winpatrol and have following question:

I use also Ad-Aware Pro with Ad-Watch, but I think that WinPatrol does the same as Ad-Watch. But I think also that Winpatrol, if it does the same as Ad-Watch, is less heavy weighted (cpu uses etc.) as Ad-Watch.

I tried to Google my question, but didnot find any answer to my question. So why, I ask it here.

If so, I can uninstall Ad-Watch and only use Ad-ware Pro. But on the other hand I also think if Winpatrol does his job, do I need Ad-Aware or spybot or SuperAntiSpyware???

Looking forward to your reply.

PS.I'm an efficiency user, why use more programs than usefull.

Hi, Chocka.

Indeed there is the school of thought that too many security programs can result in poor computer performance. In addition, a great deal of computer security is sitting in the chair controlling the mouse clicks.

For many years I used both WinPatrol and Ad-Aware SE Professional/Ad-Watch on Windows XP. Now that I am using Windows Vista, I have WinPatrol Plus, antivirus & firewall. Yes, Windows Defender is pre-installed on Vista, but I haven't had a need for it. WinPatrol Plus alerts me if something is attempting a change.

Chocka, I'm running short of time at the moment, but will try to get back to add further thoughts later today or over the weekend.
