|

I have had spam slip through to my mailbox because it had been a few minutes since MailWasher Pro checked the mailbox and I have processed the mail without checking for new mail. It would be nice if MailWasher could check the mail just before processing to see if any mail has slipped in between checks. I do it manually now but still some times forget and get caught with some spam in my mailbox and have to manually enter them into MailWasher Pro. If MailWasher could check and then alert you to the new spam or unchecked mail so that you could check it out for spam before processing.

That would be nice. But realize that the timing gap can't be closed to zero and, esp. when lots of SPAM is being received, a few can still slip through. Much better to implement the proxy mode.

Even worse is if you are checking several accounts with a sequential checking mail client, the last account on the list can have a minute or more to pick up new spam. _________________ Questions? Try the wiki

aw c'mon -- how tough can this be? I get about 400 piecces of Spam per day and rarely see more than 2 unprocessed evil doers get through to my Outlook. _________________ ... It is better to have the breath of a hog than to have no breath at all.

I,m on a high latency link and it takes me about 2-3 minutes to check all of my accounts in Outlook. That means If I run a check in MW and it is clean the last account checked in outlook has up to 3 minutes to get a new spam, longer if I get any big attachments.
It is a big issue for me, I have rearranged the accounts in Outlook to put the spammiest ones first so they have less chance of getting spam during the delay. I have even switched to a mail client that doesn't do sequential checking to reduce the delay. I still get bit on a daily basis.
Any unprocessed mail getting through isn't acceptable to me due to web bugs and security problems. _________________ Questions? Try the wiki
