Hello Leah, Welcome to CCSP Smile

Navprotect.exe has nothing at all to do with Symantec. As you can see from the above, it is related to the mentioned malware.

Since msfwe1.exe does not show on any search engines, it is most likely related to malware. Try these online file scanners to submit the file and see what the results are...

You should also perform a scan with your resident Anti-Virus. In addition, also try one of these online scans...If these cannot solve your problem or you need assistance, post a HijackThis Logfile here CastleCops Link/f67-Trend_Micro_HijackThis_Logs.html Please read the rules before posting CastleCops Link/postt8864.html You can download HJT from here CastleCops Link/downloads-file-328.html

Regards,
M_M

Thanks! I looked it up on the Kapersky website you recommended, and sure enough it's a virus.

I'm going to run it through the antivirus software now.

Well, Avast didn't recognize it and therefore didn't remove it....so I did the Bitdefender online scan, but it couldn't remove it even though it found it.

I will try the hijack this.
