Hey,

My parents' computer has pokapoka76.exe (among other less intrusive malware, I'm sure) and I need help to get rid of it. Should I run any specific spyware-removal tool?

got that crap from AIM the other day and need to remvoe it as well... why cant developers make a program thats better then the virus makers... one that cleans all this junk up easily

Please relocate your HJT log to a permanent folder not a temp one where it is now.

You will need to run LQfix which is used for the latest variants of Elitebar including the pokapoka strain which you have.
Please download LQfix to your desktop.
Double-click LQfix.exe and click install.
Leave the default settings. If you change them, the fix will fail.
Make sure 'Launch LQfix' is checked. After clicking finish in the install, the fix will start.
Follow the prompts on the screen. Your system will reboot afterwards.
Your system may take longer than usual to start up this one time; please be patient.

Next, please follow our Malware Removal Procedure , a new system we have devised to enable users to either partially, or fully clean their systems. After you complete the recommended scans, please post a new HJT log and I will complete your log analysis and advise you of any HJT fixes.

Please post your ewido scan report and any other logs which you may have in your reply.

Note**: It is best to perform the ewido scan itself (step 3). which is step 7 of the Malware Removal Procedure in Safe Mode
