Uninstall following in the "Add/Remove Programs" in the Windows Control Panel if they are listed.
Wind Updates
TV Media
Then..
Download this file from here:
Getservice.zip -> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/getservice.php
Extract the file to the c:\ drive. Then navigate to the c:\getservices and double-click on the getservices.bat file. A notepad will open up. Please paste the contents of that notepad as a reply to this post.
There is a service that needs to be identified and stopped so we can finish with the cleaning. _________________ Yellowhammer

Please first download LSPFix from here and save it to your desktop.
1. Download this tool called AboutBuster here: http://www.downloads.subratam.org/AboutBuster.zip
or here:
http://malwarebytes.biz/AboutBuster.zip
Unzip it to your desktop but don't run it yet.
2.Then, Download Ad-aware Second Edition here and install it. If you already have Ad-aware Second Edition skip to the next step.
Open adaware and Click the "Check for updates now" line on the main screen. CLick the "Connect" button on the webupdate screen.
If an update is available download it and install it. Click the "Finish" button to go back to the main screen.
Click on the "Settings" button (gear symbol in the upper right corner of the main status screen) in the quick launch toolbar to open the General settings screen. Check the "Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal" setting and then click "Proceed" to save your changes
Click the "Scan now" button in the main menu on the left side of the main status screen or use the "Start" button in lower right corner. This will open the Preparing System Scan screen. Please deselect "Search for negligible risk entries", as negligible risk entries (MRU's) are not considered to be a threat. Then select "Use custom scanning options" and click "CUstomize". This will open the "Scan Settings Page. Make sure all of the following are On with a "green" checkmark:
Scan within archives
Scan active processes
Scan Registry
Deep-scan Registry
Scan my IE Favorites for banned URLs
Scan my Hosts File
Then click on the "Tweak" Button to open up the tweak settings.
Open up the Scanning Engine section and make sure all of the following are On with a "green" checkmark:
Scan registry for all users instead of current user only
Make sure the following is unchecked with a "red" X:
Unload recognized processes & modules during scan.
Open up the Cleaning Engine section and make sure all of the following are On with a "green" checkmark:
Always try to unload modules before deletion
During Removal, unload Explorer and IE if necessary
Let Windows remove files in use at next reboot.
Click the "Proceed" button to save settings.
Don't scan yet. We will do it in safe mode.
3. At this point it would be helpful to print out the instructions. Make sure you are disconnected from the internet until you get through step 12.
4. Make sure you can view hidden and system files.
Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
Click "Apply" then "OK"
5. Next, go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit Ok
Scroll down and find the service called Network Security Service (NSS). When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok and close any open windows.
6. Boot to safe mode: Instructions here.
While in safe mode right click on the task bar to open up task manager.
Once Task manager is open look in the running processes and end task on any of the following that are running:
sdkzc32.exe
sorwid.exe
d3an32.exe
zhelp.exe
gvyuamj.exe
cmph400.exe
While in safe mode, double click on the cwsserviceemove.reg file you downloaded at the beginning. Grant it permission to add the registry items.
8. Scan with Hijack This and put checks next to all the following, then click "Fix Checked"

D:\WINDOWS\System32\gvyuamj.exe
D:\WINDOWS\System32\cmph400.exe
and delete the following folders if present:
D:\Program Files\WindUpdates
D:\Program Files\TV Media
9. Double click AboutBuster.exe that you downloaded earlier. Click OK, click Start, then click OK. This will scan your computer for the bad files and delete them. Save the report (copy and paste into notepad or word pad and save as a .txt file) and post a copy back here when you are done with all the steps.
10. Scan with Adaware by opening it and clicking the "Next" button to start the scan.
When the scan is completed the Performing System Scan screen will change name to "Scan Complete".
Click the "Next" button to get to the Scanning Results screens where more information about the objects detected during the scan is available.
Click the Critical Objects Tab. In general all of the items listed will be bad. Be carefull with the Hosts file entries. Malware uses the hosts file to redirect you websites. However you can use the hosts file as a way to prevent malware. If the object has 127.0.0.1 in it, it should most likely not be deleted as it is protecting against unwanted sites. For more information on how to use a host file to protect yourself read here. So in short, you may or may not want to fix the hosts file entries.
To fix all the bad critical object do the following:
Right click on one of them to open up the selection screen. Click the "Select All" button to select all entries. In general all should be selected with the exception of the good hosts file entries.
When all are selected Click "Next" and then "OK" in the pop-up window to confirm the removal.
11. The following step is important as you have several malware files in your temp directories.
Then browse to the C:\documents and settings\Your User Name (repeat for all other user names in documents and settings)\local settings\temp folder and delete all files and folders in it.
Then browse to the C:\Window\Temp folder and delete all files and folders in it.
Then in internet explore click tools>internet Options>General. Click on Delete Files make sure you get all offline content as well.
12. Reboot to normal mode.
12.5 Run lspfix that you previously downloaded. On the opening screen, click the "I know what I'm doing" checkbox. Check all instances of "lspak.dll" (and nothing else), and move them to the "Remove" pane. Then click Finish.
13. There are possibly three files may have been deleted from your computer by the hijacker and may need to be replaced.
Control.exe
hosts (with no extension)
SDHelper.dll (if you are using Spybot Search & Destroy)
Restore files deleted or modified by this malware.
Replace you hosts file with one of the two options below. I recommend the first option.
Option A.
Replace your host file with the one available here. This one adds a huge list of sites to your host file to help prevent infection. Instructions are provided at that site.
Option B.
Download the Hoster from here. Press "Restore Original Hosts" and press "OK". Exit Program.
If you have Spybot S&D installed you will also need to replace one file.
Go here and download SDHelper.dll. Copy the file to the folder containing you Spybot S&D program (normally C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy)
If you are having any problems opening the control panel go here, and download control.exe per the instructions at the site.
Additionally, Please check your ActiveX security settings. They may have been changed by this CWS variant to allow ALL ActiveX!! If they have been changed, reset your active x security settings in IE as recommended here.
Look in your system32 folder for shell.dll
If it is not there, Go into System32\dllcache
Find shell.dll
Right click on shell.dll and choose copy from the menu. Then paste it into the system 32 folder.
Alternatively you can download one here and put it in your system32 folder.
14. Finally, do an online scan at the following site. Let it remove any infected files found.
Trend Micro (PC-cillin) - Free on-line Scan
http://housecall.antivirus.com
Post a fresh HijackThis log and the AboutBuster report back here please.
15. Then Disable system restore: Instructions here.
Reboot
Enable system restore.
Disable Messenger Service per the following instructions.
Click Start > Run and type "services.msc" (no quotes) in the Open: line and click OK
In the right pane, scroll down to Messenger.
Double click Messenger and click the General tab.
Under Service Status: click the Stop button.
In the Startup Type: drop down box, select Disable.
Click Apply and OK.
Post a fresh HijackThis log please.
You do not have an antivirus program running which is a large part of your problem. If you want a good free antivirus try AVG which is available here.
The next thing you need to do when we are through is get to the windows update site and download ALL the critical updates while you are there. Your system is very out of date. The best thing to do probably is order the Windows XP SP2 disk. You can order the Windows XP SP2 service pack cd here.
