Probably nothing but I know what you mean - waiting for the next attack is a bitch. Be glad it's not on the TV "news".

The story appearing on TV news could be the best thing that could happen to BS. Think of the recruitment drive.

Another good argument for off loading their forums to a different site. When they (BSec) go down they take all our official information links with them.

I can get in but it is obvious from the very small number of people there, that something is going on. I have asked for info to pass on, but nothing yet. _________________ Websplasher website design. Design with a splash.

| Just sent it in to local NBC TV news. Maybe others should so the same. What I wrote was:
I don't know if you are aware of the spam battle that has been going
on for the last week. An outfit named Blue Securities has been working
at implementing a "Do not Intrude" list for email. Free to join for individuals.
They have a rather neat way of enforcing it and have spammers in a panic
and as such have been under attack for the last week. For a somewhat
cumbersome look at what has been happening, check out :
http://www.realtechnews.com/posts/3011
/f230-Blue_Security.html
The Blue Securities/Blue Frog pages may or may not be functioning at the
moment because the spammers have been using some highly illegal
methods to shut the site down and Blue Securities is busy. It is kind of neat to see ~500,000 people who are fed up with spam in a battle doing something about it.

Careful what you wish for! A spot featuring Underwood and Levine may do more harm than good.

I understand where you're coming from but I think even if a TV segment interviewing those to 'experts' were to be shown, I still think it would push recruitment through the roof. As we've seen since the attack, there seem to be two very entrenched sides.
Those such as ourselves who hate spammers with a passion, who refuse to be put off by the misleading 'facts' that have been spewed forth by the likes of the two you mention, and then there are the pro spammer bunch that suck that stuff up like a sponge.
A TV segment about the recent events, even containing the usual dubious 'facts', would alert many more anti spam ppl to the fact that there is a prog out there that is, at the very least, annoying the crap out of spammers.
The pro spammers wil never admit it works, anyway so no great loss there.

No matter what the TV News reports the minds of those in one of these three groups is unlikely to change. However the larger group of people that have never heard of "Fred" could easily be put off with tales of BSec using fraudulent Credit Cards to complete bogus order forms as part of their Opt-Out system using OUR computers. (Sounds ridiculous I know but is being proposed for a "PRO BSec" article to be published).
I am all for the BSec concept and hope the creators make a mint, but the poorly worded comments of well intentioned people can make BSec look pretty bad.
I think "Corporate Image" (especially on TV or Print News outlets) should be left to the "Officials" at BSec. While I envision our best role as loyal supporters promoting the concept to family, friends, and associates.

If one amoung us were to put together a nice, concise picture of the past week and if many in the comminity were to send it in to local TV stations, I can't see anything but good coming out of it. Especially if a comment about how porn spam is corrupting our children or some such politically correct, emotional concept was held as carrot in front of reporter. Here is a chance to opt out of all the crap. Here is the battle and here's how you can fight. Filters are just an attempt to pull the covers over your head. Blue Frog is fighting EVIL.

Back to the topic...
Since the BS folks haven't posted to tell us not to submit, I am going to assume we should continue, although I still get the "undergoing maintenance" screen when I try to view stats.
