Is there a problem?

I submitted about twenty entries over a period of a week or two which is all I had off several of my email addresses.

Is there some special process I need to do to prove my virtuosity? I think my last submission was today or last night in my time. You want to be notified. I can PM you if you are worried I might be getting away with something dire

I haven't said I am a sirt member. AS you can see in this thread I have made the offer to assist if I can and have been sending in entries which is all I am covering in that quote. Have been emailing phish scams to pirt for a long time although no great volume of them. Thanks for the info in the other thread

I must have counted incorrectly. This is a much slower rate of reporting than I was initially making. I was reporting several at once, several times a day... hmm, I guess I woulda counted em if I had known I would need to prove myself!

I would like to join the effort. I currently run my own honeypot, and take down a few websites here and there whenever I find phishing/malware sites. But I'd rather join a group dedicated to such a noble cause, than to work as a loner.

I get bombarded with malware and report it all the time so if someone is willing to train me I will put in the effort. MIRT would be better even SIRT too

SIRT is gaining Traction

The Spam Incident Reporting and Termination initiative is steadily growing. Since its inception as a logical follow-on from PIRT (Phishing) and MIRT (Malware) we have seen an enthusiastic band of volunteers undergo training and then become certified SIRT Handlers.

From August 1, 2007 through to May 1, 2008 a 9 months gestation period has seen the emergence of a total of 2,200 reports going to registrars, ISPs, researchers and most importantly, law enforcement for prosecution evidence.

The Handler team comprises just 10 people, but with a spam queue of over 100,000 entries to choose from, there is room for plenty more volunteers. If you feel like contributing some time to the cause and helping mount the evidence for the prosecution, just send a PM to tembow and you will be on track for enrollment and extensive training.

I registered mainly as a "passive" member as I do most of my "Phish" elimination from AntiFraud International, the PhishTank and other sites. However, if anything needs doing urgently, UK time, I am willing to help where I can.
