According to Kaspersky, this is backdoor.win32.rbot.gen. Also known as...

IRC.Sdbot [McAfee]
WORM_RBOT [Trend Micro]
W32.Spybot.Worm [Symantec]

HKLM --> Run and also RunService [MDN] %WINDIR%\system32\mdnz.exe

Also related to a variant of this nasty is [NAV Auto Protect] msfwe1.exe

Thanks Mere_Mortal.

Did you mean mdnz.exe or mdns.exe?

I added mdns.exe but couldn't find a reference for the other. If you have an example in a log somewhere can you post it please.

I also didn't find any references to msfwe1.exe in the anti-virus databases. Do you have an example of it, so I can do a little more digging please. I might just need to use a different search, or it might be a completely random name generated.

Thanks
