my promblem is for some reason hjt deleted the file -load in the registry. it has it in the backup but it won't restore. it says it's restored but it shows right back up in the backup list. windows won't work without that file. and i don't want to scrap the computer. the file i'm talking about is located at
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\load

it comes up with a fatal error message saying cannot find file and once you click ok it shuts the computer down. any suggestions ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated

Before you dump the computer: You may want to re-install Windows and dump your old data. A re-install (clean) wipes out everything...just a thought.

Hello, Welcome to CCSP Smile

From what you are saying, it seems this might be your problem :
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/adware.affilred.b.html

Out of curiosity, what is the filename that was appended to this Registry key?
