after running through my start up items and checking with the list(excellent by the way) lsasss is there so i have disabled it . under the title startup item it reads lsasss, under comand it reads lsasss.exe and location software/microsoft/currentversion/run. am i right thinking this is bad? i run nav 2004 and it doesnt pick it up. i have the latest definitions and winxp sp2 with the latest updates. how do i delete it? thankyou

Yup, this can only be viral in nature.
Please do the following:

Go to CastleCops Link/downloads-cat-14.html, and download Hijack This.

Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, and save the log somewhere.

NOTE: Most of what Hijack This lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.

Next, go to the Spyware - Hijack This section of this board.

Press "New Topic", explain your problem, and copy and paste the contents of the Hijack This log into your new message. You'll get expert assistance in dealing with your problem.
