If the link you receive in the email is broken, you need to copy the whole link (start at the end and copy to the beginning) into the browser address bar. If you see < and > at either end of the link, do not include it in your copy.

The only other reason this error would occur is if you waited more then 7 days before trying to activate the account, and the account has been deleted.
